The dreamy valley of Hunza lies in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. Littered with scenic places and home to glaciers, fruit orchards, rivers and towering mountainous peaks while inhabited by a literate and hospitable local community, Hunza is a destination that calls to all.
The valley can divided into 3 basic divisions:
- Upper Hunza:
The northern part of Hunza hosts Gulmit, Sost, Passu and other such towns that are filled with breathtaking scenery. It is sheer joy to pass through them and pause to interact with locals and their businesses. Traveles usually opt to travel further to reach the Khunjerab Pass, the world’s highest international border crossing that links Pakistan to China.
- Central Hunza:
The most established division of Hunza is home to its capital, Karimabad, and other major towns like Aliabad, Hassanabad, Dourkhan and others. With great lodgings and dining options, travelers can get settled down here before making their respective incursions to other parts of the valley. Tour guides and helpful locals are ever-present to ensure that you make the most out of your Hunza experience.
- Lower Hunza:
Towns like Nasirabad and Hussainabad welcome you to explore this part of Hunza which holds promising traveler sights. Stroll through the landscape while the serenity sinks in.
